We start with a sensual, confident walk in heels, learn proud posture and fluid hip movement, and in time move on to full, graceful choreographies. We work with the iconic props - from long gloves, through boas, to show-stopping feather fans.

Burlesque Debut Stage
Dreaming of stepping into the spotlight? Carrying an idea for an act that is bursting to get on stage? Showgirls Academy is opening the door for you!
We are announcing an official call for performers for the Burlesque Debut Stages, taking place on October 10th 2026 in the atmospheric space of Stalownia in Warsaw and November 13th 2026 in the Wroclaw city center - Sztuka Na Miejscu.
Who are we looking for?
- Absolute debutants – people who have never performed a solo burlesque act in front of an audience before.
- Performers with premiere acts – if you have performed before but are preparing a completely new, never-shown act, this stage is for you too (debuting performers take priority, though).
- Diversity and courage – we welcome every style: from classic glamour, through neo-burlesque, to comedy, activist and drag acts.
What do we offer?
- A professional stage and technical setup.
- A safe, accepting and body-positive atmosphere – we look after the mental and physical comfort of our performers.
- Promotional support – professional photos of your performance, promotion of your profile on our social media, and a dedicated stand to sell your merch/prints.
- Payment – we respect your work, time and commitment, so every performance is paid (financial details will follow in our reply email).
- Time for networking – after the show we host an afterparty where you can talk with the audience and other people from the scene.

Breaking the fears.
1. Who are the classes and workshops for?
For every adult, regardless of age, size, body type, or prior dance experience! Burlesque is a space of absolute acceptance. Our workshops are designed both for absolute beginners stepping onto the dance floor for the very first time and for those looking to develop their stage confidence and technique.
2. Do I have to undress?
Absolutely not! Classic striptease is just one element of burlesque, and participating in it during class is 100% voluntary. We focus primarily on prop play (gloves, boas, fans), sensual movement, building confidence, and having a great time. You decide exactly how much you want to reveal.
3. What should I wear to my first class?
Choose something that makes you feel comfortable yet feminine and sultry. It is important that the outfit fits relatively close to the body. Great options include: a sports top and leggings, or a bodysuit and fishnets. Information regarding any specific props needed (e.g., stockings, high heels) will always be provided in the description of the specific event.
4. What will I get out of these workshops?
In addition to learning sultry choreography and movement techniques (isolations, prop work, stage expression), the workshops provide: - A powerful boost of confidence and self-acceptance. - A chance to unlock your inner magnetic energy in a retro-glamour atmosphere. - Quality time spent in a fantastic, supportive, and safe environment.
5. I have zero dance experience. Will I manage?
Yes, absolutely! The intensive workshop format is structured to introduce you to the world of burlesque step by step. We break down all movements and techniques right from the basics, ensuring that every participant feels comfortable and gets the absolute most satisfaction out of the dance.
6. Do I have to want to perform on stage?
No! Most participants attend the workshops purely for themselves. It is a wonderful way to spend time and boost your confidence. But if you ever dream of making your burlesque debut – we'll help you make it happen!
